King Kong Invades the Beehive in Wellington As a Napier artist, born in Christchurch, Nicholas has been influenced by his grandmother, also a painter. Nicholas's art is unique and incorporates very strong themes in his work, allowing his interests to influence his art. This has been evident in his more recent works, in which tourism, native birds and the film industry often feature. Nicholas's iconic oil painting 'King Kong Invades the Beehive in Wellington' has been hired by a member of the “Shortland Street” crew, in which his humorous side surfaces.
